At every point in time of our lives, we to have make choices. These choices go a long way in affecting other choices, causing a ripple effect and therefore requires critical thinking. One of them is the choice of where to settle down and make a home. If you’re a lover of Southwest Nigeria; love the vibrant city-life but allergic to the stress that comes with it; I’ve got the perfect place for you… The City of Ibadan.
WHY LOVE IBADAN?
Here is a list of what Ibadan (listed as one of the emerging cities of Africa) has to offer you.
Transportation at its cheapest! That’s an undeniable fact about this buoyant mega-city of Ibadan. Would you believe it if I told you, you can board a cab with as little as 20 Naira anywhere in this country? Yup! ’20 Box’.
I had my first experience sometime ago, just fresh from Lagos. I boarded a cab from Under-bridge General Gas going to Iwo road. We were three on the backseat that got in from the same junction all going to the same bus stop, since I wasn’t sure of the fare, I just waited on them to pay first.
I was shocked when I saw these guys pay the driver N20 each, while I was seriously waiting on the driver to shout at them for paying such a ridiculous price!…In this RECESSION! He just collected it, no Comment!…. WOW…. I gladly brought out my N20 note jeje and thanked God I had the change.
Transportation in Ibadan is one of the cheapest in Nigeria and moving around is just that easy and simple. Gridlocks and traffic hold ups is the least of your worries in this ancient city.
Any Lagosian will be extremely grateful to have such an experience. Something considered the norm in this City.
The government in Oyo state hasn’t relaxed on its oars either; road expansion, repairs and management is on the go. So if you’re thinking of an ever evolving city where transportation is easy and very affordable, with traffic congestion at its barest minimum, you should consider Ibadan as a place to settle in.
You just have to love this city. … You can have a fantastic pot of soup with just N500. That’s right! You have access to food items fresh and cheap. I actually saw someone buy 6 cobs of corn for N200. Trust me, this city’s got you covered with all the basics you need for survival without weighing you down financial.
The City of Ibadan provides you with comfortable, conducive and beautiful accommodation at different levels of your financial capacity. You don’t have to stretch your budget and weigh yourself down financially to get a good and comfortable accommodation. There is ALWAYS an edifice that best meets your need as you grow in family size and financially.
Okay here is the ‘thing’, Ibadan is an expanding city (notice the continuous tense) with massive uninhabited landmass and ever increasing population. I would imagine that there must be something the minds behind the establishment of the biggest Shop rite in the whole of Africa in Ibadan saw for them to make that decision. Diverse opportunities exist in Ibadan for everyone to dive into and make profits.
The atmosphere and the people is everything called friendly. Ibadan welcomes everyone, young and old, indigent and non-indigent. And if you love the night life and evening hang outs, they are all over the city.
